Day 1: The ride to my new home was scary. My new Mommy was excited to have me and kept talking to me the whole time but I was still very scared. When we got to our new house, I decided that I didn't want to stay there. It was a decision that I would come to regret later. So I tugged, and the collar that my first Mommy had put on me came open. My new Mommy looked horrified and she tried to grab me, but I ran (and fast). It was fun at first, so I played with her by playing "hide and seek" and "you can't catch me!". Pretty soon, I had run so far that I couldn't see my new Mommy, but I was enjoying my freedom so much that I just kept running. Three hours later, I saw Mommy still looking for me and I dashed into a cornfield. Tonight it was a bit cold, so I sneaked into a factory and found a warm corner to sleep in.
Day 2: Today I saw Mommy walking with my sister down the road. She was putting papers into boxes in front of all the houses and was calling my name. I played "peek a boo" with her a little and then hid. I didn't want her to be mad at me for running away.
Days 3-9: For the next few days, several people tried to give me treats and called my name, but I ran from all of them. I started to get hungry and cold. One night there was ice on the ground and I felt like I couldn't get warm. So, I followed the smell of my sister back to my Mommy's house. She had left her back door open and put a bone in there. I gobbled up that bone real quick and then I scratched on her garage door. A light went on in her garage and I got scared. I almost ran away again but Daddy was blocking the door that I came in. When Mommy opened her garage door, I went right inside the house and rubbed up against her. She felt warm and seemed nice. Why did I run away? She held me like a baby and her eyes looked sad as she petted my rumbling belly. I was wasting away to nothing! She must have heard my belly because she took me into a warm room where all my toys were, where she gave me some milk, food with an egg on it, and all the loving I could have wanted. Mommy said I was away for 9 days. No wonder she looked so sad! She let me sleep with her tonight. It was the warmest night and happiest night I have had in a long time!
Days 10-13: Mommy fed me yummy food! She also gave me toys to play with and lots of hugs and kisses. She also gave me a dirty look and shook her finger when I went poopy in the house. I was trying to learn how to let her know that I need to go but I don't think we understand eachother fully yet. I went potty everywhere. She looked very unhappy when I went on her wood floor. I'm glad she doesn't stay mad for long. I like cuddling with her.
Day 14: Today I didn't go potty inside the house except when Mommy put me in my home to sleep. She gave me a treat and gave me kisses every time I went potty outside. I like this! I'm going to try to go potty outside every time so maybe she'll give me a treat every time!
